The Harbro Group
For Harbro Limited, the core business has been and still is manufacturing and selling
quality feeds for livestock, poultry and game, supported by extensive technical services and highly
qualified staff.
As a progressive company, Harbro has taken opportunities to expand and bring complementary businesses into the
Harbro Group. These group members are Transpan (Scotland) Ltd, Feedmix Limited and Strathclyde Nutrition Ltd.
Transpan Ltd is Harbro's transport company running a
fleet of 30 vehicles. The fleet of bulk tipper, bulk blowers, flat-decks,
curtain-siders and tankers can be seen sporting the red and black livery
with tartan swoosh.
From bases in Aberdeenshire, Angus,Yorkshire and East Anglia, Feedmix Ltd has over 20 Feedmobiles,
which process feed throughout the grain producing Eastern counties of the UK. For those who do not
wish to invest capital in equipment, the Feedmobile is ideal as it can mix feeds, process home-grown
cereals and straw on-farm. At harvest time, the Feedmobile is invaluable for
"Propcorn Roll & Treat", processing all your harvest grain in one operation. Ammonia treatment of
straw is another specialist feed process on offer in Scotland from Feedmix Ltd.
The most recent development for the Harbro Group is Strathclyde
Nutrition Ltd, a manufacturing company which sells to the merchant trade
as opposed to the farmer or end-user.
Strathclyde Nutrition Ltd was formed in April 2000 and the new company couples Strathclyde's
manufacturing expertise with Harbro's technical and marketing expertise. The range of Superblocks
is the flagship product of Strathclyde Nutrition and this range has been complemented by branded
protein and energy feed licks, mineral licks, mineral supplements, salt licks and ruminant fish meal.
