Harbro at the forefront of animal healthcare as Lisa passes with flying colours

Lisa Riddell, based at Harbro’s Thainstone Centre Country Store, has become one of the first of a “new breed” of animal healthcare professionals after gaining a nationally-recognised qualification in animal medicines from the Animal Medicines Training Reg

Lisa passed with flying colours to become a Suitable Qualified Person (SQP) following the successful completion of a series of demanding projects and course work, culminating in a series of examinations.

AMTRA is authorised by the Government to ensure that the marketing and distribution of animal medicines in the UK is undertaken in a responsible manner by SQPs. The qualification permits the holder to advise, prescribe and supply certain veterinary medicines through registered retail businesses.

“I’m delighted to have been successful in achieving this qualification,” said Lisa. “The role of the SQP is continually changing and Harbro is at the forefront of new developments in the animal health industry enabling us to offer a wider range of animal medicines and ensure first-class advice is available to our customers.”

A programme of Continued Professional Development (CPD) ensures that SQPs are kept up to date with the latest developments in animal healthcare and are fully qualified to advise customers purchasing veterinary medicines
