Harbro is delighted to announce the acquisition of Almins Ltd a highly respected, family-run business led by Archie and Julie Leitch.
Established over 30 years ago, Almins has built an impressive track record of growth, innovation and on-farm performance. The business is widely recognised for its specialist expertise in mineral nutrition for high-performing livestock, alongside its science-backed rearing and dry cow programmes, which have delivered proven results on farms across the UK and Ireland.
Both Harbro and Almins share a clear alignment in their objectives: to drive animal performance through high-quality nutrition, innovation and practical on-farm advice.
The acquisition will enable Harbro to further expand and develop the Almins product portfolio, including its unique manufacturing processes and advanced nutritional technologies. Harbro customers will now benefit from access to Almins’ specialist products, while Almins customers will be supported by Harbro’s nutritional expertise.
Almins will continue to operate as a separate limited company within the Harbro Group, maintaining its strong brand identity and customer relationships. Archie Leitch will remain in the business and join the wider Harbro team, ensuring continuity of the high-quality support Almins customers value.
“We are delighted to welcome Almins into the Harbro Group. Their technical expertise, innovative approach and strong customer relationships make them an excellent fit for our business. By combining the strengths of both teams, we are excited to accelerate the development of Almins’ unique product technologies and deliver even greater value and performance for farmers across the UK and Ireland.” commented Chris Baxter, CEO, Harbro Ltd.
“We are proud of what we have built at Almins and are excited to join forces with Harbro. This partnership allows us to continue supporting our loyal customers while expanding our reach and investing further in the technologies and programmes that deliver real results on farm.” Archie Leitch, Almins added.
The addition of Almins strengthens Harbro’s position in the market and enhances its ability to deliver value-for-money, high quality nutritional solutions, designed to improve livestock performance.
