Laura Fleming
Transport Planner

What got you into this role?
I have been a part of Harbro for 19 years this year. Having started in customer service with a bit of purchasing and stock management, I then moved into the transport department as transport planner where I have been for the past 8 years. I also hold my transport manager CPC qualification.
At present I currently plan all non-bulk movements and transport for our customers and country stores across the UK and Ireland. There’s never a quiet day in the transport office but it’s always rewarding to get the routes planned and deliveries to the customers.
How long have you been involved in the livestock feed industry?
I grew up on a dairy farm in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire until I was 16, so have always had a bit of agriculture in my blood and a love for livestock.
What is one of your favourite Harbro product(s)?
Maxammon Kelso Tup and Lamb Nuts. This is a great product for turning out stock for shows and sales. It’s always rewarding to see customers stock doing well which we feed.
What do you get up to outside of work?
Outside of work spending time with family and loved ones is important to me. I also have a passion for home-baking and playing Netball for Clydesdale Netball Club seniors’ team. So at the weekends, if I’m not in the kitchen you’ll find me on the court!
